Jake's First Coyote

My neighbor Jake and I went coyote hunting last night.  Called this 35 lb male in on pup distress and ki-yi mostly.  Jake took him, his first coyote ever, at 177 yds with his .22 Hornet.  Beautiful head shot.

Jake, Great shot.  Congrats.  Is his coat thin from the hot weather?  If you think it is Mange you better get to scrubbing.  Dick

    Papa1 and Foxtrot, no mange that I could tell,the hide wasn't scaly at all,I think it was just mainly the timeframe of the year, behind the ears and between his back legs he was REALLY sparse as far as hair but I think that was mostly due to ticks behind the ears and crotch rot from heat and running (prickly heat)!!! Bad smell but don't they all........
    Brushwolf,he was running solo that night,he came in right around a half hr,just prior to us hanging it up for the night.
    lookn4fur (Tim), yes, long legs......you would notice....lol,only messing with you,they are extremely long it seemed like.

    Abolt,(Cliff) Jake said thanks and he heard you can curve bullets around hills to get coyotes too...
