The Varmint/Predator Hunter and the Range Finder Device?

Are Range Finder Device expensive because they are sophisticated type equipment or is the ole Texas Inst thing..The solar calculator was so expensive when it first came out...Oh maybe even like $200.00.. Now you can get one for $5.00.

I could see having one for chuck hunting were I am shooting 200-250 yards at a chuck..Night time predator hunting...The red or coyote comes running at you so fast I don't have time to take a reading. Now maybe in the daytime in another state that the shot is wide open it might be feasible..

I just can't see spending big $$$$$$$$ for a range finder...Are any of the cheaper models good? Maybe the ones that cost under $100.00?
