Something odd today

I was out calling coyotes this Wednesday morning in the SGL by my house. There has been a fresh set of tracks coming and going from the PA to Ohio side. I went up a ridge and set up to watch the creek area below, called and don't see anything. Tonight Thursday i went back to the same ridge and seen a set of tracks folowing my tracks up the ridge. Is this an odd occurrence?

Could be that you both picked the best path up the ridge,
It was an easier travel route now that you pushed the snow down for him
Or the coyote may have been curious as to what you were doing and followed

I've seen them follow my trail when trapping but most of the time they stay
to the downwind side of my tracks but 1-3 ft away
