new hunting
« on: December 06, 2009, 12:48:31 PM »
I went out to the local diner this morning to shoot the bull and eat breakfast. I ran into a local farmer there, He lets me hunt on his farm, very big farm.He ask me how many ground hogs I killed on his farm this past summer and I told him.The guy that was with him has a farm that has been posted for a sometime. Because of hunters driving in his fields, corn ,beans, and hay.He ask me to hunt hogs on his farm next summer. Needless to say I thanked him and said Yes. Then I ask him about coyotes, He very nicely invited me over. He told me the lay out of his farm and were the roads are, Farm roads.I killed a coyote on the farm next to him last year. This is also avery big place. He owns 4 farms and rents 2. Lots of different types of land Ridges, wet bottoms. and lost of fields and fence rows. I will be there soon. Deer season has not been going to good this so far. I am on vacation this week. But this was great day to day. Opened up a great place for me to hunt. 4 miles from home.

Have a good day

thats how dad does it too. just starts talking to people.we aren't looking for deer hunting places and most people don't want us to hunt the deer. but when dad asks about coyotes, the doors almost fly open. the coyote we killed this year was on the forester that did dads timber cruise this year. he said if we do good, he has some friends....... ;D

Gotta love that Mountain Dog.  I would save that place for the individual hunt if you are participating in that.............Tim
"Predators are either active & feeding, semi-active & callable, or utterly inactive & then practically speaking, no call is needed; we're just taking our guns for a walk. We can & should get used to it, & follow their leed cuz they just ain't eager nor apt to follow our’s any time soon!

I put an add on Craigslist and got a response this summer. I did it again and got flagged. My area is all private land. I asked for permission last year well into the season. I know people are particular about deer hunting so I wait until after rifle season to ask for permission. I find most landowners are at ease with your intentions and trust that your there to hunt what you say your hunting. Just my experiences.
