The first day of trout season will come earlier next year. The PA Board of Fish & Boat Commissioners voted yesterday to make the first day of the season two weeks earlier in 18 counties than the current mid-April start.
Each year, the opener for trout season will now be the first Saturday after March 28 in Cumberland, Dauphin, Lebanon, Perry, York, Juniata, Schuylkill, Adams, Franklin, Lancaster, Lehigh, Northampton, Montgomery, Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Philadelphia.
For 2007, the first day in the above mentioned counties will be March 31.
Opening day for the rest of the state will remain the first Saturday after April 11 - in 2007, that will be April 14.
