Anybody using the .204 Ruger?
« on: April 06, 2006, 09:58:32 AM »
Is anybody using the .204 Ruger for hogs or am I the only one?
If you haven't tried this round you should. Awesome performance. Its one of those things you need to try to believe how good it is. I've busted 35 hogs with mine and I can't say enough good things about my Remington VLS in .204. :D There's not much recoil and compared to larger varmint rounds, it's not too loud.
If any of you get into loading your own .204's, I have some loads worked up that really shoot the 39 & 40 gn bullets well.

Hi Two-o-four

I just won a Ruger .204 M77 heavy barrel SS in a gun raffle several months ago.  I am loading a 40 gr. Hornady V-Max with 30.0 grs. of Hodgdon BL-C (2).  They shoot great on paper !!  I would be interested in the loads you have worked up.  After turkey season I will be looking for some hogs to test out the loads on.
