new to site & predator hunting

Hello there, Had a few questions maybe you could help with.Do you guys use any scents and if so what.I'm thinking you would use a scent that goes with what your calling with like rabbit urine with the rabbit disstress call & so on any tips or hints.Any idea if it's easier to call a coyote up a hill than down or vise versa or does it not matter,I realize that they like to come from down wind but besides the wind factor if anyone has notice a preference.Thanks in advance

i use cover scents to mask my scent---i prefer skunk---but u can use fox , coyote, 'coon or rabbit urine..

I used red fox cover scent for over 21 years.  This year I did not use any at all.  I did not see any significant decline in my call in numbers.  So I don't use it anymore.  


Remember that predators will get in direct line with your calling and speaker if using electronics.  Start to post cross wind of the sound source and you will not have to mess with cover scent.

Welcome chiefz28. Are you a PPHA member?

I tried cover scents. I don't use 'em. I think a good walkthur the barnyard is all you need plus a good set up.

Cover scents do make some folk feel confident.

I do 'mist' at some locations when Coyote hunting. But misting isn't a cover scent...more of an added scent to what a Coyote is hearing.

As far as I know i'm a memmber went through all the steps.That's pretty much along the lines I was thinking with the scents like your talking about thanks.
