Jakes First Fox
« on: November 10, 2012, 11:24:49 AM »
Took my oldest son, Jake out for a couple sets last night.  Here he is with his first fox ever.  What I thought was unique is that this was a grey fox.  I have never shot a grey on this farm and I have been hunting it for about ten years.  It was a text book set up and Jake dropped it with the 22 hornet at roughly 60 yards.  By the way Ernie, Jake was using the Coyote TLR and I was using the Carnivore 5 and even though I didn't get a chance to shoot.  I really liked it.  Because of the wider field of coverage, I can id easier than any other light and I have seven different kinds!  Thanks.

"Predators are either active & feeding, semi-active & callable, or utterly inactive & then practically speaking, no call is needed; we're just taking our guns for a walk. We can & should get used to it, & follow their leed cuz they just ain't eager nor apt to follow our’s any time soon!

Glad to see your boy got his first fox.
You two will remember that the rest of your lives.
I remember my first fox, it was with a trap. Even today when I go there I smile to my self.
That was over 40 + years ago.
I am happy you like the light. Now go out and get him a red fox.
Also let him shoot first even if you have a shot. :-)
For a brief moment I could hear nature through all the noise.

Congratulations! That first fox is always awesome! My first was a grey that was called in and killed while using white light!
