Crazy Weekend
« on: January 08, 2012, 11:15:50 PM »
Had a crazy weekend Friday night went out late with coonreaper after our bball game and set up over a cut corn field and to make a long story short called in four with the new flextone, saw a total of 6, hit 3 with coons 17 hmr using the 20 gr xtp's got one and the other two got away and the one was hit twice >:( and all shots were under 100 yards and we went back out the next morning too look also and nothing so were done with the 17, oh and this was all from one spot all within in an hour and a half time span so there's a lot of fox in this area don't have a pic of the one coon got but it was a really nice furred up female... the next night went out with another buddy and as we were walking in there was 2 out in the field hunting and the one gave me a shot at 80 yards and I dropped it with the 22-250 but i hit this one back and it opened it up bigtime  :-\ so we walked prolly another 400 yards to where we were gonna call and there was another one out in the field hunting so my buddy got down in the prone position with my gun and shot at it at about 150 yards but missed so we walked to another spot and called but didn't have any luck there but overall I saw 9 different fox in two nights of hunting for about 2 hours each so I was pretty happy considering it was near a full moon too and this was the most action I've had yet.. this was that fox that I opened up with the 22-250 sorry for the crappy pic it was taken with my phone with flash

Lots of fun when they are running.  Congrats.
"Predators are either active & feeding, semi-active & callable, or utterly inactive & then practically speaking, no call is needed; we're just taking our guns for a walk. We can & should get used to it, & follow their leed cuz they just ain't eager nor apt to follow our’s any time soon!

WTG! Do you reload for the 22250? Like to know what your shooting in the 22250 with not much damage. Anyways keep shooting straight.
