Variable Winds and shifting winds what to do?

Most predators will come into the winds... However if your winds are so light that you can't even tell which way they are blowing from and too or the winds are shifting from the West, then the North West to the South. Hunt closer to your speaker... See the predators everyone of them will get in direct line with the loudest part of the speaker at one time or another. SO by being close to speaker during no wind, variable wind, and shifting winds you will at least get a glimpse of them coming to the call... If you set up and the wind does shift on you...Don't be afraid to move and adjust accordingly also...

Might be a good time to use mouth calling too.. They will come to your calling. Let them adjust to the changing wind not you...

Get yourself a small dowel rod.. Cut it off at the 6 inch mark. Take a piece of NONWAXED dental floss... Fray the end of the NONWAXED dental floss.. Keep this in your pocket...Pull it out of your pocket unwrap the floss from around the dowel rod.. hold it out in front of you and you will be able to tell which way the wind is blowing.. even during night set ups...Just shine your light on the tip of frayed floss to see which way it's blowing too... Baking soda in a squeeze bottle also works well but might be hard at night time to see like the NONWAXED dental floss.. Notice it's important...NONWAXED dental floss not waxed...
