Fury died over the weekend.
« on: August 31, 2015, 06:29:49 AM »
Got up early on Saturday morning to hunt some coyotes at first light.   Get out of the truck and turn on the caller to make sure it worked.  I got power to the unit and power to the remote but no sound would play.  I could change sounds on the caller but they wouldn't play.   didn't bring my backup caller or any hand calls..  GRRRR.   get home try a set of regular batteries and the call still wouldn't work.  put the rechargeables in the back up caller and they worked.   I am sending the call back to Fox Pro to see if they could fix it, call is 7 years old and out of warranty so we will see what happens.

I have had problems with the on off switch over the years and last year it did the same thing to me as Saturday morning but I powered it on and off then it worked.   I am very happy with the Fox Pro, like I said I have had it for 7 years and have called in thousands of stuff with it.   I was looking for a replacement and think I would go with the Hell Fire or the Primos Turbo Dog.  I have 2 speakers on the Fury but I have the one shut off and only use the cone speaker anyway.   If I have to get a new caller it is important to me that I can download my crow calls and JS calls to it also I want a caller with a cone speaker.   does anyone have any experience with the Hell Fire or the Turbo Dogg?

Bowman has the Hell Fire.  I'm pretty sure he likes it.  Stay tuned,  I'm sure he'll post and let you know his honest opinion.

I have run the Hellfire for a while now and love it, my only complaint is the remote is the old style TX9 remote, if im playing a sound that is in the #3 slot and want #31 there is alot of scrolling to get there. You need good batteries to have the volume at 20 and still play, i do not use the best batteries and mine cuts out above 17, now at 17 the call is screaming and I find no need to ever play it that loud.
I just won an Inferno at the Renovo show and man did i fall hard for the remote. Like the higher end remotes you have categories that you can put specific sounds in ie coyote sounds only under coyote and so forth. The sound is clean and crisp for a small unit even at higher volume. Sounds download easily to both units, for the Inferno you have one extra step with arranging the categories how you want them, but worth every second of the set uptime, sort of like what order you want them on the Hellfire.

Another thing to check out is the new Banshee

I know the Banshee is more or less the same as the Hellfire but comes with the new remote, same as the Inferno, for only $50 more, also comes with 25 more preloaded sounds 100, of your choice, over the Hellfire"s 75. Currently the Banshee is out of stock and I believe Mike said they would be back on the shelf by October 1st but don't hold me to that date

I'll second the higher end remote. I went from the wild fire to the shockwave. It was night and day. The extra $$ was well worth it.

thank you for the replies.   I spoke with FoxPro and they are going to take a look at my fury and see if it can be fixed.   I got the impression that it could.   If they can fix it for a decent price I will pay it because I really like the caller and I have all my sounds on it..   if they can't fix it I may go with the Banshee..

You can put all of your current sound files in a new fox pro call if you decide to upgrade.  If you call FOXPRO they will walk you through it step by step right over the phone!

I have all my calls on the computer and can transfer them if need be, I have just been using the same remote for 7 years and I know where everything is.   I also have a spitfire as a backup call, that one is not as easy to change calls but I have multiple sd cards for different situations.
