The majority of my success has been mornings....before 9 am. However, I have found them to be much more vocal at dusk. For fox, I like useing my FoxPro, but for Yotes, I prefer mouth calls. For Yotes, less is more. Call for a short sequnce (20-30 seconds) then wait for 10 min. Don't let it play constantly like you may do for calling fox.
Most distress sounds will peak thier curiosity. Some times a lone howel will entice them to come in. I usually always start with a howl of some type just to see if I get a response. I usually end my calling sequence with a coyote pup distress. Its very difficult to stereo type calling coyotes. What may work today, may not work tomarrow.
Be patient, and always be ready.....When it happens, it will usually go down fast and unexpectedly!!
Check the membership in your district. Throw out an invitation to team up and hunt with some of the other members to see how they do it.
