with coyotes less is more.  long breaks between calls.  start with distress for 1 minute then silence for 8 to 10.  then maybe go to a howl and wait another 8 to 10 minutes. repeat until the 45 minute mark.   stay on stand for at least 45 minutes.  i would also wait 10 to 15 minutes after your last call.  hunt downwind posting shooters 100 to 200 yards downwind of the caller.  let the caller watch the upside of the wind.   coyotes are tough but if they are there you can call them.  be patient.

Scott gave you good advice. It must be nice to have buddies to hunt with. Lots of people tell me they would love to go along, but when it's time to hunt...You know the rest of the story

Coyote hunting in Pa...advice....hunting with people....Takes time for coyote hunter to get in sync...My brother and nephew..  we have been hunting for years now...So we all know what is expected of each other when we hunt coyotes...So...the advice is....don't feel bad when things just don't happen the way they should when it comes to coyote hunting.. See.....new hunters to the sport...if someone just does something wrong......it's over...now not one person really can't point the finger at each other see we are all human...Mistakes will be made when hunting the Pa Eastern Coyotes....So many Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda statements are made after the hunts!!!!!Let me give you example of a shoulda,  Sometimes you will take the wrong rifle, or shoulda have had the shotgun instead of the rifle,  things like this... The main thing is to learn from your mistakes... Truly the Shoulda....here might be that you need to use an rifle shotgun combo and have the both of best worlds or maybe be a sharpshooter or even a marksmen with the rifle....   The main thing is to keep at it and every once in awhile the good LORD will allow you to take one of these Pa Eastern Coyotes......

Thanks for all the good advice and yea I'm pretty lucky to have buddies that'll put the time in with me... Yea were always saying a lot of what if's but like you said you have to learn from your mistakes and trust me we are lol we didn't have any luck we only got to make a few stands last night and one this morning I really don't think were in that hot of an area we did t find any sign and didn't hear any howls when we howled last night we know they've been here in the past but now we are seeing more deer sign then before now too I think he coyotes have moved out for the time being but who knows couldve been rookie mistakes too

Yah me and predator94 were huntin together this weekend at my cabin. saw more fox sign than anything but also saw some bobcat activity and some other unidentified tracks. i think that a disadvantage may be that its so thick up there with lawrel and dense sappling growth that they could have caught our scent before we ever got a chance to see them. there deffinatly wasn't as many yotes there as was seen in previouse years. we had a good 7 inches of snow up there too. next time well have to try some more and different spots. the one spot that i was hoping would be good was a powerline that extends over the mountain but it was a lot skinnier that i was hoping and it was only about 10 yards wide. betterluck next time hopefully. we deff got an idear of how tricky them buggers are to hunt lol

You guys need to get in the trees if you're in the thick stuff.
