If the PGC make the 17 cal. and the 22 cal. Air guns leagle. Who will use them and for what?

What gun will you use? And how far can you shoot and kill a squirrel with your gun.

I'll use a 17 cal. I'm not as good of a shot as I was in my younger days. I would probably keep the distance to 40 yards or less.

I have been pondering the idea. These new models are not the same as the old daisy BB guns. The use would be for rodents.........or maybe pick'n apples. Might need some train'n from Hern though. ::) ::) 8)

There is a pellet gun balistic program you should look at. It is called
Chair Gun pro and is a free download app.
It is a must have to understand pellet rifles.

I have various air guns. But my "go to" rifle is the Wicked Air Rifle .30cal. (Custom USA Made) Deadly accurate out to 120+yards. On a good day, I can do 1"-1.25" groups at 100yds.

BW what do you think of the Benjamin Maximus PCP .22? I am looking at something in the 2 to 300.00 range for backyard varmints like groundhogs....this has good reviews ...do you know anything?    What would you recommend?      8)  Or anybody else............

I do not know anything about that gun. But it looks like a nice starter gun. But the hand pump will get old quick! I have an hand air pump and ended up buying a fill tank that I fill at a scuba shop. Cost way more then the gun you are looking at. But hate the hand pump.

I read about that gun. Still do not know if it is any good. But it will be as loud as your 22 rifle if you are worried about your neighbors.

I am going to have to rethink this...I was thinking, from reading, the .22 was better for critters up to groundhog size. Quiet was also a consideration. I guess regular sub sonic .22 ammo might be just as quiet or quieter than an air rifle. So what would you think a break action or co2? Single shot would be ok if it worked good....... 8)

 >:( >:( >:( >:( Jaspr1, before you buy... ??? ??? ??? ??? please check mine out  :o :o :o :o :o it's only a .177 but this model also comes in .22  ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) so this way you can try before you buy...but as far as noise. They say that the quietness doesn't kick in until after about 500 shots and mine is not there... :P :P :P :P :P :P Mine is a Remington Express... :) :) :)

Just get a subsonic 22 if you are just going to use It for pest control.  It will hit harder then the air rifle you were looking at. Killing ground hog size game even with the subsonic will be hard enough.
