Title: Where should I sell my fur
Post by: coyotenightmare on November 27, 2012, 02:51:58 PM
I am running out of space to store my fur. I ran 2 short trap lines. The first for a week and the second for 4 nights. I have 31 coon, 4 fox, 16 muskrats and 3 mink. Also trapped about 20 possums! My problem is that I don't have any space to hang stretchers and have more farms I want to trap. (weather permitting) Should I wait till the end of December and send them to Nafa? Take them to a fur dealer? Does it hurt to take them off stretchers when dried and store them in a feed bag? I guess I should buy some of those fancy fur hangers and my problem would be solved.

When dried, take 'em off the stretchers.
Maybe a family member has a safe place to hang 'em. ?
Hang'n 'em after they're dried and off stretchers keeps hides aired out and prevents spoiling.
I have no experience store'n fur in a feed bag.

I just take a foot of wire and loop it through the left eye and hang them in bundels of 10.
