Title: Coon put up...
Post by: Hern on December 07, 2010, 08:10:48 PM
I comb, skun, flesh, tumble and put up most of my Coon.
I like to hang Coon, Mink & 'Rats upside down to dry. This way excess oil/fat doesn't touch the fur while drying.
I do like to pin out the split tail...
Here's traditional tail pinned open method...

here's hardward cloth method I use...

I use the same method for Mink tails...

You are right Bob. Bottom half of that Coon doesn't have a mark.

Can't believe you still do that for a $5.00 coon skin.

'51, Some things are a way of life around here.
You look at things differently than me.
I respect all living things and treat 'em proper, with my best care, when I kill 'em.

$5 Coon?? Where did you get those prices?
