Try to keep the light high out of their eyes,
just so you can see them glow.
its tough when you're excited.

bulb/mouse squeaker to start and finish... in between I normally have 3-5 different calls that I do at least 2 series of calls with... use whatever you feel comfortable with...  good luck...

Led might not be bright enough.
It will work out to 40 or 50 yds though.
Try it out on your dog if you have one
You don't want one too bright either.
A red filter will help also IMO

Go have some fun and relax. Just make sure you're ready to shoot before you turn on your caller. My first fox I called last night I was hunting by myself and I thought I was ready but I wasn't. I forgot to close the bolt. Needless to say the fox is still breathing. The second one wasn't as lucky.

sorry for the late reply... some how I missed this before...

normally I'll swing the gun around on the tripod when I spot eyes and this puts the shooting light on'em... I normally don't take the time to turn my head light off... most of the time I'm hunting with a partner so we have his head light and the shooting light on them so they only see the flash and by then it's to late...   ;D
