Title: Trout bait for dirt hole sets
Post by: j76clev2 on December 16, 2015, 12:21:26 PM
Hey all,

Has anyone ever used fish in a dirt hole set for k-9s ? just curious i have a ton of trout ground up, made a set with it last night had a house cat this morning.  My dog goes nuts trying to get at the bait jar when i thaw it out little by little which made me curious.  If this is something any one else has tried or if Im  just going to be catching kitties and wasting time.

Thanks

J

You will do just fine with that. I would add Glycerin to prevent bait freezing.
Fish or Fish oil is a good change up for Canines during cold weather.

It's good in the fall also, but during cold weather, you will catch less Coon, Possums and Skunks since they lay up then.
