Title: Electronic Callers for deer hunting?
Post by: uncle buck on March 11, 2015, 10:39:48 PM
PGC  is considering this right now... Do you think would be a good idea or not?  Is it sporting in your eyes?

That little JS electronic caller that cost about $42.00 is probably all you would need.. Compact and hey JS sounds are always good!!

I have called in deer all the time when using mouth calls and electronics... I would think they would be quite an asset during the rut.  A mouth call doing the dying rabbit works great then.. I could just imagine by hitting them with all kinds of deer talk could bring in big bucks..

Negative side is your going to be hearing a lot of deer sounds and calling in the deer woods during the deer seasons... could get some predator real smart real fast too..

Of course many of the well known predator callers have some pretty good deer sounds on them.. Alpha Dogg has all kinds of expert calling scenario for deer on it already... Just push the button and lit it rip!!

Could be the poachers will start to use them.. Hey they probably already are using electronics to call in deer!!!!

doe hunting the early bow season with fawn in distress would be cool and productive.

I would be against it. IMO (and i've noticed it over the years) the deer won't even respond to grunts like they use to. It seems every guy that walks into the woods has a grunt call hanging around his neck and blows on it even when there are no deer in sight. I think the deer are use to hearing it and are tired of coming in the false alarms. It would get like that with electronic callers also. We have educated all of our Pa animals enough.

Being a pretty non-serious deer hunter.....seems like it would ruin the solitude of my tree stand.

Maybe the hardcore deer hunter might find an advantage using an e-caller.

Personally, I really enjoy the quite time out in the woods that I find in deer season. I try to avoid areas where there is a lot of opening day activity.

But that's just me.

many times at night, I've had an old nanny come charging in to save the fawn in distress when I was using certain calls...  what would the difference be to use the same call in the daytime?...

We should also add turkeys. Then everthing is covered that way everyone will have the same edge. Then we should have a two week youth mentor season also. That would help the people who that post there properties get a turkey. Then they can brag about getting there grandson a turkey. I love hunting isn't it skillfull and refreshing.
