I am also the proud new owner of a D3 custom open reed call and a Predator Stick.  Both are sweet sounding calls and are made very well.

You haven't heard anything till you hear Tim do the chicken distress on the Predator Stick.  I was very impressed. 8)    I have lots of chicken farms around my area, common to find piles of chicken feathers far, far away from the farms.

I'm gonna be practicing that sound for sure.

It's meant to be replacable.  Push it out and open the back of the reed up a little and then re-seat it.  Any problems or questions let me know.....Tim

I knew it was by design! Was it "fur friendly"?

Good thing it happened in the house. I wouldn't have found it in the woods. I think I'm good to go now. :)
