I have an area that always seems to hold a cat or two, anyway I have scouted an hunted it now seems like the cats are gone.I saw a good bit of rabbit, grouse, squirrell sign,so there is good food source, the only thing I did see was a good bit of coyote sign runnin the roads around the clear cut.Would they push out the cats?

Also I may add,I have not seen anyone in that area, the only way in is to park at the bottom of hill at gate and hike the whole way to the top.No truck tracks/ boot tracks.Any thoughts?

Cats have a big range if there is food they should be back or some where in the area. I'm having the same problem I knew where they were but now haven't seen a track since season started.

I don't think coyotes will chase cats out of an area. It is Febrauary and the males are roaming hard now looking for love. They will be back but maybe not in season. Cats, both male and female seem to just disappear from time to time. It can be days or even weeks sometimes until they return.
