You are obviously not keeping the population in check:

State lawmaker proposes bounty on coyotes

Associated Press

STROUDSBURG — A northeastern Pennsylvania lawmaker is proposing a $25 bounty on coyotes to deal with what he calls a region that has become “infested” with the animals.

Rep. Mike Peifer, R-Monroe/Pike counties, has introduced legislation to allow the state game commission to offer the bounty.

State law already allows year-round coyote hunting, and Peifer says he wants to give hunters an incentive to bag the animals, which he said are preying on everything from house cats to deer.

He says the measure wouldn’t require the commission to implement the bounty but would allow it to do so where the animals are a problem.

The game commission, however, questions how effective such a bounty would be, saying decades-long coyote bounties in western states had little effect.

Drove to Pike today to try some daytime coyote calling...they won't lose money paying a bounty to me.   ::)

But how can that be....the area is "infested" with them?

Apparently this lawmaker has never had a 3 am wake up to sit in the snow and listen to the death wails of a dying animal in hopes of smacking a coyote.

He obviously has also never read anything about the history of coyotes and how everything short of a nuke has been tried to eridacate them.

Throw money at the problem.....always the answer.

I wonder which Sportsman's Club,Houndsmen,or Big Wallet donor has his ear....Bounty would help pay for gas to pick-up chase coyotes with hounds...my best guess...It's ALWAYS about the money.... We will have a better understanding of this smelly situation when the PGC get's it....see if they selectively apply this gas money to just his area or state wide.....I am really becoming facetious in my old age and JMO..8)
