Buy or sell a rifle or shot gun without goin through the paper work?Have been told yes now you do,an a lot of no's.Anyone know?
-
If from a gun shop there's gonna be paper work but from a private sale, you can get away with not doing any, I believe. I may be wrong though.
-
Bowman66,I have been told that if you sell one to someone that may not be aloud to own one,for whatever reason, that the person that sold it is liable. We will have to see if anyone knows for sure how the new laws are.
-
True that's why I wouldn't sell a gun to someone I don't know!
-
I understand long guns can be sold without any paperwork changes! Hand guns you have to go to a gun shop and have it changed legally! Hence why you see rifles and shotguns for sale in classifieds!
-
There has been no new law changes with transfers. Shotguns and rifles....no paperwork is needed UNLESS you are a dealer selling a used gun thru the shop. Handguns, Yes you do need to do the transfer paperwork.
Thats why you can still purchase a rifle and shot gun at a gun show without any paper trail. Thats one of the things Oboma is trying to take away from us.....making all guns sales have a paper trail.

. I agree. But I put a gun on pens woods, marlin goose gun that I modified for meat shoots, after about the 3 rd shoot I was ask not to bring it anymore!!To many people complaining about the same guy winning all the time.Any way haven't used it for awhile an decided to try to get a little of the money back
I dumped into it.That is why I was woundering about shipping it out.
