I can't even buy a set of eyes around here. I have been out every night except Sunday so far. I saw a couple of coon sitting in trees the first night and saw one fox in a field the second night. I have not seen a set of eyes since Saturday night. There are not even any coons in the cut corn fields.

Sounds like my situation. Not sure what the deal is. I unfortunately don't have any cut corn fields, seen no fox during season and only called in two coons on the ground. Heard some coyotes opening morning about 3am but no visuals on them. My spots are silent.

No, I have never hunted there. I heard that placed gets hit so hard for everything, predators included. I have a buddy that just came back to town who owns a neighboring property who wants to hunt it with me and a new property that I didn't get a chance to check out in Belle Vernon. I've never had such a rough beginning of the season as I'm having now. Sucks to because I bought so much new equipment to help me close the deal :(.

That's how I feel. I bought a new gun and scope, two new lights, and a new shockwave.

Agreed, it's been a slow start here too. Got one, missed one, busted once.
Heading up to Tioga tomorrow to hit some new spots.....<fingers crossed>

The fox started out responding very well when the season opened. I lip squeeked in a gray while hunting our archery season and got him with an arrow. First time calling wasn't until bow season was over and called in two reds within a minute. As usual they wouldnt come out in the open to give me a shot. I threw a load of #4 buck at them to no avail. Next time out calling shot a red in the face at 80 yds with my .22 wmr. Then a couple of nights later killed another red at 10 yards with that same rifle. After that I had a few come looking but would not present a shot. Last nite called in 2 reds at 40 yds and missed them both with the shotgun (very heavy brush) I think im leaving the shotgun home. I do better with the rifle!
