Post by: Grass Stain on July 27, 2013, 08:32:00 AM
Has anyone been thinking of doing an early season yote hunt yet? If so let's post your favorite early season calls and if you will be field or woods hunting.

Every year around fawning time, I keep saying that I'm going to go out and use a fawn distress to see how it works.....as usual, this year was no diffrent.....I thought about it and thats as far as I got.  There's always next year.

I haven't been out yet. I plan on it next month though. Last year I started with some lone howls with minutes of silence, a few fawn bawls with silence and as soon as I hit DSG cottontail, it was on. All of this took 28 minutes last August and I had a double run it.

Early season is tough for me since I am not a big fan of the heat and bugs.  I do however, hunt for depredation purposes.  Here is some exceptional fur on nice male I shot in the daytime a few days ago.  He was my second blonde phase PA coyote of the week.  Good luck if you venture out!

Awesome Kirk! I seen the pictures on Facebook but didn't realize it was a new harvest. I look forward to all the pics you post throughout the season.

Thanks Ian.  I dont post near as much as I used to other than on Facebook.  I usually dont photograph too much in the summer time but, this one I felt had better than usual fur on it so I figured I would add to this thread for you all.  It was taken a few days ago in Pa at 2035 hrs with a Tactical 20.   It was my second of this color phase of the week but the first one wasnt near as nice.  This was a decent male.  Take care and good luck!
