I've been out groundhog hunting a lot lately on property that I can fox hunt this season. Killing a bunch of hogs and seeing a ton of rabbits. More rabbits than I have seen in many many years! My question is: would this be an indication that not many foxes are around or that that there is just an abundance of food for the little red devils?

I have been seeing the same thing while chuck hunting. There are Rabbits all over.

IMO it happens every year around this time. This is a good thing as there is food for the critters. Predator populations especially fox will cycle with prey abundance.

I'm glad to hear the population is up. My beagles and I will have a good time knocking em down. Does anyone know of any good rabbit hunting spots near Wellsboro. I have dogs if you have spots, so lets team up.

Same here...all over the place...

Alot of rabbits in my area to. Getting ready to put cameras out to see whats in the woods.
-
I've also been seeing a lot of rabbits!
-
The bunnies on my property usually are mostly gone due to predation and raptors, by the end of September. Right now, yeah there are plenty.

Where I live in Tigoa Cnty, NY I typically see two-three rabbits in my back yard I now see more than a dozen. Also seeing the same high numbers while driving back roads and such. Predators will be having a smorgasbord this summer/fall. Hopefully it translates to heavier weights and improved fur and counts.

There is one farm I hunt that has a quadrant that is loaded with rabbit activity! When calling at night I can see the numerous rabbit eyes too! Coyotes and fox know they are their too! No fancy dazzle sounds needed to attract predators in that quadrant! Every time and all the time rabbit distress with mouth and or electronic calls ALWAYS works! Remember these places! Predators know rabbits are there! Find the food find your target animals prevail!

I love rabbits...awesome animals. I don't know if high rabbit numbers indicate anything but I have one farm I hunt fox and there are always rabbits out in the same pasture every night. Makes me think fox aren't are smart as I give them credit. :P

We have a beagle and hunt rabbits a lot. seems to me, if the area is good for rabbits it is good for fox.
