I sighted my new 22 mag Savage bolt action dead on at 50 yards..i want to know what the drop will be at 100 yards..i did'nt get to shoot it at 100 yards at i'm curious ..I could'nt find any ballastics on it...out of the muzzle FPS is 2,200...with a 21 inch barrel....Thanks Pred53

Hornady used a 24" barrel for their posted velocity of 2200. You'll most likely be a couple hundred fps less.
This is using their ballistic calculator. Works pretty good.

Figured I'd give it a go again. Paid my dues yesterday, so you'll all have to put up with me for at least a year 8)

How's the accuracy with that bullet? Definitely smokin for a 22mag

John again thankyou tor the info...accuracy was unbelieveable.....I had 10 shots the size of a quarter at 50 yards....I had some help at the range...an older feller was watching me struggle with sighting it in...he walked over and ask me...if I needed help and of course..I said please....he took the gun from my hands....pulled the bolt out.....few turns on the adjustments...and the guy was knocking the center out.....he was enjoying so much....I let the guy shoot it for 20 mins..he did nt want to put it down.....I thought it was funny.....I think the guy was a sniper in vieitnam...anyways he handed back to me and said you hunting dawgs with that..I said yes sir.....he just smiled and said goodluck....

I bought a Savage .22 mag with money I won from Fantasy Football his year....has the accu-trigger and bull barrel.
You are right...it is really fun to shoot and accurate as anything that I ever shot at 50 yards....love it

Savage is definitely a name to be reconed with. They have come a long way with their out of the box accuracy. Plus their pricing still seems to be reasonable. I own numerous Savage rifles and haven't had one that shot poorly.

I only have one savage in my house.......
