.204 and vmax tore this fox up... Is there a custom load a person could create to avoid such damage ?
-
How close was it?

After 10 of those kills I quit using my .204. I haven't taken it out at all this year, and am setting it back for crows and groundhogs. If someone has a tried and true load that would be great.

I would suggest going to a diffrent gun! LOL I use a 17 Hornet and love it. Very small entrance wound, and I have yet to see an exit wound.

Yikes I just picked up a .204 and i was hoping this wasn't going to happen. How many grain bullet are you using? Instead of using V-Max that have the ballistic tip have you thought of a hollow point or spire point?

Use a 223 have not had that Problem, But WoW nothing good about That...

Do you think it's from the velocity? I know the 40 grain v max are flying at 3900 fps.

You would have to reload go with a psp an a heavier bullet. I use a 223 and 40 grain v max an with that i found it depends where i hit the critter i just got a red 2 weeks ago an i didnt blow it up. It was a pencil hole in an a thumb hole out.
