The granddaddy of them all Mosquito Creek hunt is this coming week-end!!!I want to see some PPHA names on the winning board or in the Clearfield Newspaper?
I attended the Northeast hunt the first week-end in Feb... What an outstanding time we had with a few PPHA members and not some members also...
I was thinking...How nice it would have been if PPHA hunters competed in the event and all met back at the Triton Fire Station for the Chicken Dinner...See you pay $25.00 for the event and they give you a meal the last day... Would have been a good way for PPHA to get together by just all meeting there after the event and sitting down to an outstanding Fried Chicken Dinner with fixxings...See no planning... You just show up for the meal and eat with your PPHA friends... Well maybe next year you all can do that????
Dreamcatcher actually had people interested in joining the PPHA...You know you get to talking to the guys sitting around you and before you know it they want to know what PPHA is.

You won't be seeing me in that hunt. I can promise that much.

My brother and my nephew hunt with me in the event... We use it as a get together to bond and have one heck of a time... Gee do we have all kind of coyote hunting stories to tell after each Mosquito Creek hunt ends.. So we really don't worry about the money...
Such was the case during the NEPA hunt...I hunted with my brother and two PPHA members. What an outstanding time we had!!!!!!!!

I was looking forward to this hunt. Unfortunatly I won't be able to participate. Got some personal issues that have to take priority. Good luck to all who attend!
-
Bother in law and I will be hunting in it. Good luck to all.

Uncle Buck I agree with you . A couple of my friends and my self have gotten in this hunt for 10 yrs. We have a great time. Mostly not successful, but we have a good time. We don"t go to the club to see the hoop la. We have good time with lots to talk about in Bedford Co.

Uncle Buck I'll be trying. Took off Friday from work, personal day. So at 12:01 tonight, HAMMER TIME.

I'll be out this weekend for Mosquito Creek. Hopefully my luck continues from Cresson's hunt. I placed 2nd and 3rd for red fox. Just need a yote to come in instead of all fox. Good luck to everyone hunting this weekend.

I couldn't make the dinner because I had to get my daughter home, although next year I will be able to hopefully. And hopefully I'll have a yote to check in.

Any known Posters on forum get one of those Mosquito Creek Coyotes? It was tough this year! We hunted hard and failed Greatly! The last two previous Mosquito Creek hunts we called in all kinds of coyotes. During the NEPA hunt we called in all kinds. Only thing I can think is the coyotes were not where the deer herded up. I think the last few days they were feeding on fieldmice! Coyotes I wish I could interview one?
-
I think your right about feeding on rodents and rabbits with the mild winter and the ground not being frozen.I have been scouting a lot lately and they do not seem to be following the deer at all.
-
interview? that's a good one!
-
Ah if you could only read a Eastern Coyotes mind!!
-
I know they are a heck of alot smarter than I am!!!unfortunately
-
How long does it take to post the results.

I can't believe that they didn't post the results yet... Doesn't give you a good feeling...It's been one week already since the hunt started...
-
They must be keeping the polygraph machine busy.

good! I hope they don't I already don't see enough deer as it is.

That is pretty bad they don't have results up.I did see results in an article somewhere but it didn't have as much info as they post on their site..only like 120 coyotes taken neartly 4000 were registered think it was 3987 if memory serves.out of all registered only a few hundred didn't enter the heaviest female.
-
This is the par for Mosquito creek. They have are money now so no hurry.... They make big big bucks off of this they should at least respect there hunters

They do have an email on thier website. Anyone up for sending a nastygram? I'm very disappointed with the way it ran this year. Do you think the PPHA would want to run our own next year for a fund raiser? Could be good exposure for the association.
-
One would think that after having this hunt for a few years they would be pretty efficient but apparently not.No statement of any kind, just leave everyone in the dark.I was just starting to think I might like to try the hunt next year but I'm reconsidering.
-
moutian dog and foxtrot I agree with you 100%. what are we going on 2 weeks and nothing at all,you would think after 20 yrs and all the money they get from all who join they would be a little more considerate.Im tired of checking thier site hoping to see results and nothing but a blank page

Hey Guys, It is all up on their website. But this is getting like the Bass fishing tournamints (don't worry about my spelling). Too much cheating. Throw the cheats and the cry babies out. I have been in this for 12 or 13 years and haven't done anything but I'll be there next year if I'm breathing. Imagine if PPHA tried to do something like this?
-
The PPHA has many hunts thru the year. Its a shame people don't take advantage of them more than they do.
-
Tim, How many members do we have? I'm not fighting w/you but it is a shame that we don't have many more for the hunters that are in PA. I'm from NJ, have a camp in Huntingdon Co. and have been a PPHA member for a long time. What is wrong? Dick Taylor
