I used my Mossberg 835 with a HeviShot Dead Coyote 3.5in
The sound was Jack Distress on the Primos Power Dogg. It ran for about 5mins before I heard some critters running around in the woods behind me. I went to turn the caller back on but it wouldn't respond. As I turned to check on the caller. I caught the fox coming across the field from the opposite direction of the woods. He stopped and staired into the woods. That long enough to try the caller again. It wouldn't turn on. So I did the next best thing. I started to lip squeek to get his attention. He wanted nothing with it. He was busy watching what was going on in the woods. I pursed the lips again and started squeeking like I was dying. He turned and started walking my way. I waited until he got right in front of me before I brought the butt of the gun up to my shoulder. He stopped when he saw me move. But as I got the gun up he ran. First shot missed. At this point he is sprinting straight away from me. Thesecond shot rolled him at about 20yds.
He is my first fox during the fur season. Although, I have called in numerous ones with no luck on a clear shot like this one.
