Do you think a 410 slug would rip a big hole in a fox? Most 410 slugs I have seen are in the 2 1/2 shells. suppose if you were going to shoot let say 50 yards at a fox with the 410 slug it would be better and more accurate to use a 22WMR????

I'm a little off topic, but years ago we would use the 410 for gray fox in the mountains with fairly good results until the pelts started getting really prime about mid December then they just didn't have enough punch.Never tried slugs though.

Notice... the 2 1/2 410 shells have more velocity then the 3 inch 410 shells. 3 inch just have more shot..So you would think the pellets from the 2 1/2 would hit harder and go deeper then the 3 inch shot????It makes you think that the 3 inch would be better for rabbits since it only takes a few pellets to anchor but you would have more shot in the pattern... Now squirrel? um probably best to use the 2 1/2 shell and # 4 shot so it hits harder??????

a 410 hits every bit as hard as a 12gauge as long as they have the same velocity. it wouldn't be my first choice for predators. i would go with the 22 mag.
