Does anyone use this sound? When? What results?
Thanks,
MIke

you talking about estrous chirps?
-
Notice that you can even buy a call that is suppose to do this... Me no I don't use it but I don't really know how to make that sound.. I have learned to stick to Interrogation, KIYI, Coyote Challenge, Female High Pitched Howls, Coyote Pup and that seems to work during mating season.. Now if I was going to use this sound..I think I try to get it on electronics from let say...Randy Anderson then you know it truly that sound..
I remember years back we were all upset because Dennis Kirk sold a cassette entitled: Red Fox In Heat. I even saw a guy at the Sportsmen show as for his money back from him..See you could just about hear the sound.. I too felt the same way but figure: "Let The Buyer Beware Prevailed" when you buy things... However when I got my FX5...I took that Dennis Kirk sound and loaded it to my FX5.. Now it louder on there and I do use it this time of the year to lure in those love sick reds... I use it in combination with other red fox sounds to play with the love sick red fox... By the way...all these years.. It sounds great on the Foxpro FX5.

some good reading on coyote vocalizations. http://predatorprofessionals.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=232 some good examples of the vocalizations as well.
-
Thanks I will have to listen to see if I can do it on the open reed call.. Might be an easy sound to make..

i have it and tried it last year a couple of times. i did call in a coyote one of the times but did not get a shot. not sure if that was the sound the made it come in because it was early in my sequence and this one came in late, but it didn't scare it away either.

I had almost the same thing happen as scott.Did call in one last year on a stand that I used that sound along with some other vocals. Can't say for sure if that sound was the attractant or not but it certainly didn't scare him away.

you talking about estrous chirps?
Whimper is a totally different sound than estrous chirp.
-
what does the whimper sound like then? I had thought they were the same.
-
Lots of guy think they are the same,go to the foxpro site and you can preview the fem whimpers sound. As for the estrus chirp it's a pretty strange noise almost bird like.
-
that what the Kirk Female Red In Heat sounds like...Chirps and high pitch canine sounds...I wonder if I could use that in my coyote calling scenario? I'll have to try it..
