So...what are your plans for bobcat season? You gonna hunt both day and night sets? What call schemes, volumes, and decoy options are you all planning to use?
I have called them in during day sets while dog hunting. One cat came into a powerdogg cottian tail distress and edge rabbit decoy set. That cat fixated on the decoy! Came in and sat there and watched that decoy rotate for four minutes. O
Another came in last year to random bird distress sounds.
I plan on using the decoy heavy. Don't elevate your decoy...cause those cats will hang up and watch the decoy from a distance. You want em to get in sight / kill range when they hang up.

Two dabs of catnip behind my ears and shoot it when it runs full boar at me... ;D
Cottontail and or woodpecker sounds for up to 45 minutes in known cat country should do it...

Day time will definitely use turkey distress. Night calling will be distress calls, lets try rabbit. Long sits on the sets. If that does not do it then next year.

Am going to cut a hole in the ice.
Then put some peas around the hole.
When a Bobcat comes to take a pea,
am going to kick him in the icehole.
;D

With my Chrysler Mini Van on a road trip in the Northern Tier or across the Pa Turnpike to Somerset County...
As you know....Please make sure you do this too...If for some reason you see a bobcat killed along the road. Make sure you stop and take it. It would be a shame for such a resource to be wasted...However I don't know what the PGC would do it the cat was out of season or you did not have a tag in season..This might be a good question to ask. What if you see a dead cat along the road and the season is over.. Should you take it and call the PGC for guidance? We do have the authority to use furbearing animals if we see them along the road. However what if cat season is closed? Also If I did see one dead along the road in season.. I would not be a BS and say I killed it with a gun either!!!!!!
Of course as you know if I was to harvest a bobcat it would be with a gun or shotgun.. Not a vehicle....Just posting something to make people to think...What if?????
