Off to a good start, fist stand for fox in a week starting out good.
Fox came in to about 75 yards and did not like to smell me and left. Aaaaa, but he made a mistake and looked back at a range finder distance of 228 yards and is now in fox heaven.

Yes it was the 17 rem, but I like to beat 243 yards I did with my 223.

As luck would have it things can change quickly. My scope mount screw in one of my rings broke. I tighten the screw to tight when I installed them. Dum ****!! The screw left go some time in the night I think when putting the gun in and out of the car. I had missed two easy fox shots on one stand. So I set a target up in the field and shot at it to see what was the matter. The bullet hit a few inches off at 50 yards!! So I tried to get it close to hitting again for the night. No such luck !! I went to another stand and missed another fox !! So I went home and too bed. So today when I looked at it in the day light and found the problem. So I put the screw back in just snug and tightened it with a prayer and shot it back in and hope it holds for the night. I called around and no one has the mounts that I needed. Should be a interesting night. LOL

And for the rest of the story the screw held for Saturday night. :>) Ordered new scope mounts Monday first thing.

Congrats on fox,you sure can call them in .Im using that tripod I got from you for ground hog hunting this past year, and now for calling.If anyone has chance to try it you will love how accurate it allows you to shoot. Adjustable from prone to standing and anywhere inbetween.

what model .17 Rem. are you shooting and what type of scope mounts do you (did you order) have.... i have had absolutely no problems with my talley rings and bases that i have on my .17 Rem. love them

It is a CZ 527 Rifle in 17 rem cartridge. The rings I had were good, I just tighten one of the screws too much when I put them on. I kind of felt it when I put them on but thought it was still OK. Guess what, NOT!!
