Went out last night to see if I could get some vocal responses from some coyotes.First spot I single howled and waited about 5 minutes and then yip howled and after about another 5 minutes a fox started barking and continued non stop for several minutes.I answered back with my own rendition of a fox bark that seemed to agitate the gritter all the more.
The last stop of the night I used the same howling combination and just as I finished the yip howl I heard something approaching in the leaves very quickly.Out pops a coyote on the logging road in front of me at about 40 yards,I bark as he stops in the middle of the road for a few seconds. As this was a locating run I did not take a weapon so this fellow got a free pass.I don't know if my howling combination was the proper thing to do or not because I didn't expect a physical response, but it was still exciting even though I never fired a shot.

Sounds like a good place to take me. ;D All kidding aside sounded like a great time.

That can be arranged, although it would probably be best if you do the shooting as I've been known to miss.
Sorry about the topic spelling must of had a brain fart.

We sit on the ridges and listen to the different howls etc. Once in awhile you get to hear a good chase. And many coon fights.
