Why is the season so short this upcoming season...I was kind of looking too hunting deer and bear at the same time like other years.. Bear population must be down if they are doing this? Notice first day is a Saturday...Maybe they think having it on a Saturday the harvest will be far greater then having more days in the field??????

I would think there will be a lot more bears shot on Saturday then the Monday first day.

Im sure if the harvest numbers are not where they should be, the seasons will be adjusted as needed.
Better to be safe than sorry.

Some other state probably has their season set that way so the PGC may have been talked into trying something different. Somewhere along the line, they have a reason. It must be because they are so concerned about the welfare of certain species. If it doesn't work, next year should be a banner year for Bear.

I believe they're expecting a better than average kill ratio on saturday, due to most anyone can go now because they don't have to take off work
