I'm going night hunting with a fellow member out of state. I told him i will be using an encore single shot in 204 caliber on this hunt. Do you guys think that he should also do the same? He should only put 1 shell in his rifle as well to prove his ability and make the match even. BLAST AWAY GUYS. LOL

Nope, If your partner has a rifle that holds more shells, maybe you should have did the same. You can buy a good bolt action for the price of a TC.
My father a TC and it has cost him a few times not having a follow up shot. Trade it for a Tikka. I just got one for Christmas. My brother has one, there GREAT!.

I have a pair of Encores and love em, Tell him to use one at time, To many guys rush a shot because they know the magazine is full for a "follow up" If the shot is made right the first time you don't need another one. When I was younger I hunted with a pair of brothers and they had a lever gun in 35 rem. and a bolt 270 win. they each would only load one cause that was all their dad would let them. To this day I still shoot with the one brother and he is a heck of a shot. He still hunts with one in the gun. Just my 2 cents

It cost my dad a double. Two times.

Nah......let him load up. BUT, he has to CARRY all the batteries for the lights. ;D Make him your "sherpa".......that ought to even it out. 8)

I have had more success with Encore muzzle loader and 12ga shotgun. Then any other gun. Matter of fact the coyote that I shot last year was with the Encore 12ga. and countless turkeys on top of that.

It depends, are you 2 having some type of match. Or are you going out to harvest animals, if so why risk losing a wounded animal or if one should miss why not a follow up shot. ;D

I say practice with your Encore until you can reload as fast as he can with the bolt action. I doubt you would agree to cutting 4" off your barrel to make it fair to him because his is only 22" and yours is 26". ;)
