Is it just me or is anyone one else hunting District 6 having a problem locating and/or calling in critters. Have hunted some farms one in particular where fox where getting into the chicken coop, so you know they're there. no response to calls just gonna let them sit until we get some snow I guess

No, It's not just you. I have seen endless sightings during summer and early bow season and when it came time to hunt them, they were gone. I'm not sure in some disease came through or trappers are in higher numbers or coyotes are killing the fox. I have no idea, But in my area I am struggling this year. One thought I was having is the weather and the lack of harsh weather hurting us. Fox don't really have to risk danger by coming into a distress sound when they have all the food they want from rodents, rabbits and deer carcasses. I'm counting on a productive breeding season though. Hope things pick up for us.

well here in D4, I keep seeing fox all over the place when I am driving around , til its time to go hunt them....guess we'll see in a little over a week ;D

Probably the deer season...Getting them pushed around a bit and on guard.

The population is down this year in my area. This is not only my observation but the local trappers have said the same thing. The mountain fox is almost non existent. There is loads of food in the mountain but nothing to eat it.

I noticed the population going down starting two years ago and not because of my shooting ;D. I don't think the current deer season is helping either.
