My cousin my uncle and I went out last night to do some predator hunting. first stand nothing. second stand we had eyes about ten minutes in. they work their way to the edge of the small field we were setup in and there it was about 100 yds away a grey fox. He moved further away sticking to the edge of the field the whole time. He was in view for allmost a minute before he stopped giving us a look. the next stand we walked threw some standing water and once we got to a good intersection I started squeeking on a lil pekker and after three squeezes of the bulb we got eyes in a nearby tree checking us out. We verifyed it to be a coon. My uncle took the shot and with a heavy thud we had our first fur of the year down. about midsize coon. we made three more stands and nothing. overall I was glad to produce two good stands for my uncle and cousin. it was my cousins first time out fox hunting and my uncle has been out before with me. I think my cousin is hooked. he was breathing heavy the whole time the grey was in sight. I couldn't coax him across the field though. at the distance he was I did not think he could have made the shot leaning against a tree with a .22mag. I am gonna have to make a pair of shooting sticks for him now. ;)
