Title: One down!! Bowhunting.
Post by: predator77 on October 05, 2009, 09:35:55 PM
Shot a skinhead this evening. First kill with my new Mathews. I just got done hanging her. I hope she'll be okay tonight till I get her to the butcher. WooHoo! I'm on the board. I'm all out of doe tags but I'm going out tomorrow morning to hit the treestand.

Thanks! I got lucky with this doe. I passed her up at 9 yards because I thought she was to young. I seen her size compared to other deer and knew she was mature but she walked away. I watched all the other young deer leave and she started heading back passed me again. I had to hold on her for 25 seconds because she turned towards me but as soon as she turned broadside , I released. She was around 11 yards and still was able to turn fast enough to make the exit wound extremely far back. I thought the show was good so I waited 25 minutes before getting my arrow. From the sign on it I thought she'd be dead. Well, I jumped her 10 out of the field but I continued. Just when I was heading back to get my headlamp, I found her 10 yards off the road. Talk about lucky. There was no dragging at all.

Nice work Ian, remember to cook it to an inside temp of at least 160 degrees before you eat it.

I love it. I would have prefered the drenalin because the axle to axle is longer but I got a deal of a lifetime on this DXT. I had a Mcpherson solo lite for 8 years and I will never go back to a 2 cam bow. My bow is light, fast, forgiving (considering length) and quiet. It really is worth the money.
