Title: coyote hunting bait
Post by: wiseguy on February 16, 2009, 10:52:54 PM
A few of us are going up to sullivan county to hunt this weekend.  One of my friends has decided to take a live chicken along to use as bait.  I have read many of the thread on this board and others.  I think the chicken would hurt more than help.  But this is our first coyote hunt.  We have electronic and mouth calls, etc.

Basic question:  Thoughts on the live chicken for bait.

that I am not sure of, but it doesn't make sense to me, unless you would be hunting in the immediate area of a farm, etc.  A coyote would not normally hear/see a rooster in the middle of the woods.  I have got to talk him out of this.
