Hi guys, I'm a new predator hunter, okay that's an understatement! Tomorrow will be my first hunt, maybe I'll have beginners luck and bag a big dogs for D6! Anyway I was wondering what the best ammo was for my shotgun? Is 00 buck legal? I think it might offer too few pellets. Can anyone give me a suggestion? Thanks! looking forward to meeting some of you guys at the check in station this weekend! Go D6!

I shoot 3"bb shotgun loads out of most of my shotguns. but I use #4 buck a good bit.

OO buck is NOT legal
D6 is limited to blanks
You can't have any BP's in the load.

A few years ago, our association got #4 buck made legal for hunting predators.
Just one of the changes we brought about in Harrisburg, since we came into existance.
Welcome aboard.

puppy killer I have found the copper plated #4 buck seems to pattern better for me then just the lead shot #4 buck does.

this is one place where the more expensive ammo pays for itself... as stated before #4 buckshot is as large as you can use... as you shop around also look for BB, BBB, T, and F shot in copper plated lead... all those will work good on fox, and will anchor a coyote if they're close enough...
Federal Premium is my choice for ammo when I use the shotgun... it's hard enough to find 10ga but you can always get someone to order for you if necessary...

Thanks Dale, do I need a fur bearer license to shoot fox? I saw that they were open till the end of Feb....
