I was pulling canine traps this morning. Washed out, snow/rain soaked, puddled sets. Am pulling for deer season.
Am drive'n a remote lane and saw a Coyote trottle'n near standing corn about 200 yards away. But it didn't see me.
I stopped the pickup, grabbed the .223 and a mouth call (one of yotebusters call).
I walk a hundred yards or less, slipped into the 2nd row of corn and let a distress series.
Right now, in the lane, 70-80 yard shot.
Lucky me....
