Picked up a Savage model 10 Predator
« on: May 03, 2011, 05:54:15 PM »
Been looking at this rifle for awhile. Got 223 caliber. Going to put 4.5x 14 power Leupold scope on it with illuminated cross hair. Trigger is about albs pull. I like the drop out magazine. Easy to unload at night.

Nice....worse thing a night time predator caller can do is to install a scope that you have to set the AO for distance... Sometimes you have an incoming that is running at you so fast that you don't have time to adjust the AO before firing... A scope with an AO IMO is better for the night time predator hunting..

I know Foxpro51 does not like for example Muller scopes... However for everyone else make sure when you buy a Muller you get one that you don't have to adjust the AO for distance of the target... The AO scopes IMO are for chuck hunting not predator hunting!!

Side focus is better. I called in a bobcat last year and it sat down at 150 yards. Could not see crosshairs. NO MORE. Going to illuminated reticle. The Savage Predator is one heck of a rifle for $650.00
