Post by: uncle buck on April 15, 2010, 08:29:49 PM
Found some of this new hard to get powder...Suppose to be Universal....You can use it in the 17 Fireball all the way up to the heavy magnum reloads...This evening going to reload some 17 Fireball and some 308 Win 125 grainer HP using this new IMR powder..

Anyone try the IMR 8208 XBR rifle powder yet?

So far I reloaded some 17 Fireball (25 Hornady HP and 20 grain V Max bullets,  308 win 125 grain HP, and 22250  (50 grain Silver Tip) ammo with this new powder.  Seems like a real find grain of powder...

Shot the 308 Win and the 22250 today with various powders from a lead sled today....The IMR 8208 XBR shot the best groups of 6 other powders.  The IMR 8208 XBR enabled the 30 cal and 22cal to shot 1/2 inch  groups...

Is it like ball powder? Not the typical IMR powder

No it not a ball powder but a finer grade of powder...What I like about it is that there is reloading info on it for all kinds of calibers...From the 17 center fires up to the 4570's.
