I never have much luck in the wind, but the bitter cold and calm nights are good

I like to hunt on cold nights. I don't sweat so much when I am walking in to my sets. If it's windy, I stay at home, eat ice cream, watch a video, and play with my little boy.

My favorite night is those rare nights where it is misty and dark from rain and has little wind...very dark.  Especially when hunting public grounds these nights are the best.

100% correct...absolutely the most productive time to be out.
