Title: Start the New year off right
Post by: zekedogg on January 01, 2011, 12:32:15 PM
Hello all decided to start the new tear off right and become a member. Just joined this afternoon. I've been predator hunting for a bout a year and a half and have yet to shoot a yote, a couple foxes but no yotes. Not from lack of trying though. Looking to take advantage of being a member and the forums and learning as much as possible.

Thanks,
Rick

Zeke welcome aboard... Glad you joined us now..You could cut off some of your learning curve by viewing some of the post on here...Just don't give up..Remember when you do hunt...You don't call things in every time you go out there...Hang in there. Some nights they are not moving.. Other nights no matter what call you play or mouth call you use they run right at you... As far as coyotes... If they are there they are easy to call... remember...Calling less is better then calling for long periods... Always start off with a howl...2 each if your only after coyotes...Then shut up for about 8 minutes. Sometimes if they are there..That's all it takes is those two howls. If you what to target all animals start off with a food sound first... I like the woodpecker because if coyotes are there they will come to that or they start to howl.. Ah then you know they are there and you go right to the coyote calling scenario...  Good Luck...Let us know how you do as the season progresses.
