Title: Cutting Reeds From Plastic Package sleeves
Post by: uncle buck on June 11, 2009, 09:04:40 PM
I purchased a JS Song Dog the other day..I did not like the sound of the reed.. I Do like the clear  reeds...For example the one in the Crit-R-Call Song Dog JR. is awesome.  I overlaid the reed from the JS Song Dog on the sleever a flood light plastic sleeve..I cut out a new reed using the installed reed as a template... Wow the Sleeve was thicker and now the JS Song Dog reed I cut is going to be a keeper in this particular call.  Not quite a SD Junior reed but it's close.....

Major Boddicker who sales Crit-R-Calls always recommends that you cut your own reeds from plastic packaging sleeves.
