I took my first year of putting fur up to Dutch at Cocolamus Creek Supplies, like I said,my first year of putting it up,I know I had screw-ups with some of it,especially the first ten fox I did, this is what i got for what I took to him:
20 red fox, a top price of 40.00 and a low of 15.00 with an average of 26.75
2 grays at 25.00 dollars each
7 coons, a top price of 14.00 and a low price of 1.00 and a average of 3.00
These furs were skinned and stretched to the best of my knowledge and Dutch told me they were done correctly, I know my learning curve brought the average down some but that is what I received for what I took in

I called Dutch last night to get quotes.
Muskrats $10.00
Mink $20.00
Coon $18.00
Gray fox $25.00
Red Fox $45.00
These are prices for the best\biggest. Goes down from there. I still am not sure where or when to sell my fur.

If you don't want to ship to Canada...
There are several Fur Sales thoughout the state.
Fur Sale in Washingtonville this Sunday, the 13th. Near Danville, Montour County.
The past several years, this sale had the highest averages in the state.

I never sold to nafa but am seriously contemplating it. Always gave Dutch my business. Something about getting my money right away that I like. The sale on Sunday sounds interesting. Might have to check that out. I was hoping to get a thousand for my fur but am going to come up a little short if I take them to Dutch.

Most fur buyers ship to nafa anyway. So I believe you'd bee cutting. Out the middle man if you just ship directly.  See if there is a nafa depot near you or if there is a pick up point in your area

Well, I bit the bullet and took my furs to Dutch. Here is a rundown of what he paid me.

$327.00 for 33 coon
$287.00 for 30 muskrats
$128.00 for 7 mink
$50.00 for 2 gray fox
$100.00 for 4 red fox

3 of my reds had some mange and I had a couple small rats and 3 female mink. Thanks to some big female coon that were not prime my average coon price fell below $10.00. The last two years I asked Dutch if there is anything I am not doing right. He has been telling me everything is as good as possible. I think that means I should ship straight to nafa next year. The next nafa pickup (if I understood it properly) isn't till March 17 in my area and I didn't want to hold my furs until then.  I will probably take whats left of my fur, and the future catches to Dutch later in February.

Not bad but still a little low.  Your rats should have been $12 and your coons over $15 depending on what you had.

I sold 7 coon for $18 and a 9 for $14 but the overall average was just under $10 thanks to most of my coon being 30 inches. As I have said the last two years, next year I want to send to nafa
