Ok guys I have a few questions.
Question 1: Is it wrong to cut a hornets nest from a tree and leave it in someones duck blind?
Reason: I was out tonight trying to call some preds. As I started to set up on this property I can hunt. I noticed truck lights coming around the pond. I thought great what is this fool doing. Come to find out he hunts ducks over the pond. He somewhat anoyingly told me that I can't hunt near the pond because I'll scare off the ducks. Then he started throwing out that he makes more money in a day then I do in a week. Well I was nice about it and said not a problem. I'll stay away from the pond.
Question 2: Can someone help with a shotgun pattern problem? Has anyone used Cabelas choke tubes? Two shots less then 15yds using 3.5inch hevi shot dead coyote T shot, nothing.

Question 3: Do you guys think I should switch to my T/C Encore 12ga with a red dot or stick with my 835?
-
hey bud...i'll help you with both questions when i call you tomorrow. but if anyone else has some insight throw it out there for 'ole Swarter. ;D

Ok, I just ordered another scope light from cabelas. Its their brand. So I hope it is a good one. This light I'm going to put on the vaporizer HMR. This gun is set to hit out to 150yds easily. So, it might help with missing my target.

I had a Kick's Gobbling Thunder choke tube in my 835 with a 675 constriction. I never had a problem with patterns with turkey loads. They have one for buckshot as well. They will match a choke tube for what ever load your shooting. The only downside is it's ported and is loud for anyone sitting beside you.

with all these extra full choke tubes out there, guys don't bother to pattern the gun at 10 yards. it will shoot like a rifle at that range and i bet you are 5 or 6 inches to the left or right.

Thats what I'm thinking.

Scott is correct about the tight chokes...Such as the Deadcoyote choke tubes. they are made for shooting out to 45 + yards...Close...10 yards away they shoot like a rifle....
I hae recently changed out one of my shotguns with a modified choke tube because of all the high grass, corn, soybean, and the fox being not yet too spooked...Once the corn and the soybean is cut you can go to the Heavy Full choke guns since your 10 yard shots are going to start to be a bit farther as the season progresses..
Also could be that using 3.5 ammo that the recoil also is knocking you off center too..... This time of the year you can get away with 2 3/4 copper plated # 4 shot or even # 4 buckshot too....Sometime over kill both tight chokes and magnum ammo will hurt you more in the early season.

The tube I'm using is a extended mod. designed for copper, lead, steel and Hevi shot. I just need to get to the range and pattern the gun. If it is hitting way off. I'll just switch back to the T/C Encore with the red dot. At least I know where that is hitting.

I took the 835 out to pattern it on Tuesday. Well it was hitting low. I took the tru-glo sights off, that the previous owner had on it. My my it is hitting the center of the target now.
